The Makhado Municipality is extending employment opportunities under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), aimed at hiring 20 General Workers and 8 Cleaners. These roles are crucial for providing practical work experience and facilitating skills development, which contribute to the enhancement of community projects within the municipality.

Position Details

General Workers (20 Posts):
General Workers will be responsible for various tasks that support the maintenance and enhancement of public infrastructure and services. Their duties include a range of maintenance and support activities designed to improve the overall functioning and appearance of municipal facilities.

Cleaners (8 Posts):
Cleaners will focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces. Their work ensures that these areas remain clean and sanitary, contributing to a healthier and more enjoyable environment for all residents.

Key Information

  • Contract Duration: 6 to 8 months
  • Stipend: R2,700.00 per month, inclusive of UIF
  • Work Areas: Makhado, Dzanani, and Hlanganani

These positions are created in collaboration with the Department of Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure to benefit the most vulnerable community members, including indigent individuals, youth, women, widows, orphans, child-headed families, and people with disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: South African citizens residing within the Makhado Municipality.
  • Employment Status: Must be unemployed.
  • Age Requirement: Between 18 and 45 years.
  • Proof of Residence: Required to confirm residency within the municipality.

  • South African ID document (Smart IDs must be copied on both sides)
